There are more opportunities to explore the picturesque Bellarine coastline, thanks to a new shared walking and cycling path at Beacon Point Reserve.

The new trail is the first of its kind to be built at Beacon Point Reserve, which previously had no formal walking tracks or paths.

It will open up the Reserve for walkers, cyclists and sightseers, offering spectacular views across Corio Bay and providing another reason to visit the Bellarine Peninsula.

Around 800 metres of shared trail has been built from the existing beach access point along the foreshore. The trail features signage, accessible park furniture and native plants.

The project has transformed Beacon Point Reserve, which was previously underused due to its lack of formal pathways and limited access points.

The project employed local sub-contractors and was funded and delivered by the Victorian Government in partnership with City of Greater Geelong.

The trail is supported by a $284,190 investment from the Victorian Government.
