Navigators Hub sets course for the community
15/04/2025Community members of all ages and abilities can look forward to enjoying a wider range of activities and events in Navigators, thanks to the opening of the Navigators Community Multi-Purpose Hub.
Previously, the town only had the local community centre as a place to meet.
This posed issues around accessibility and the venue wasn’t always suitable for a wide range of community events, with locals looking to host everything from business seminars to family reunions, weddings and funerals.
Backed by more than $300,000 from Regional Development Victoria, the new multi-purpose hub provides a modern, flexible and accessible building to better meet community needs.
As well as community functions, the hub will be able to host events for tennis clubs, book clubs, history clubs, playgroups and the local men’s group.
With flexible lighting, heating, plenty of storage, kitchen access and accessible facilities, the building will also be more inviting for older people and those living with a disability. The new space provides an inclusive environment for socialising and will further strengthen the town’s sense of community.
By providing a venue for a wider range of activities, the hub will also draw in more people to visit Navigators, which is located 10 kilometers southwest of Ballarat.
The support for the Navigators Community Multi-Purpose Hub is part of our record $45 billion investment in projects that are making rural and regional Victoria even better places to live, work, stay and play.
These investments mean more visitors can experience the best of what the regions have to offer, and more communities have the infrastructure they deserve to thrive.
The Navigators Community Multi-Purpose Hub was delivered in partnership with the Australian Government, Moorabool Shire Council, Boral Limited Community Bank Ballan and District Navigators Community Centre Community Asset Committee.
