Eliza Brown, chair for the Regional Development Australia Hume Committee (RDA Hume) has released two videos showcasing business and tourism in the Hume region and feature some of the passionate locals contributing to the region’s growth.
“RDA Hume is focused on helping build capacity of businesses and identifying new and exciting opportunities that add value to our region,” said Eliza.
“Our aim for RDA Hume is to foster authentic connections between local communities and businesses across the region for many years to come.”
The videos feature Michael Dal Zotto, owner of Dal Zotto Estate winery in the King Valley; Ruby Ryan, owner of Harvest Moon Home clothing, homewares and gift store in Nagambie; and Jon Murphy, general manager and head grower of Mansfield based Murphy Fresh and the Goulburn Valley’s Tatura Fresh (part of the Flavorite Group).
The footage also includes scenes from Nagambie Brewery and Distillery, St Falls Resort in Falls Creek, regional markets, galleries and other elements of tourism and life in the region.
“These promotional videos play a small part in illustrating what Hume has to offer in terms of business, tourism, jobs and community connection,” said Eliza.
Born in Wangaratta, Eliza is from a prominent fourth-generation wine family in north-east Victoria. She has 20 years experience in the wine, tourism, and accommodation industries and is the director of All Saints Estate and Brown Family Wine Group.
Eliza was appointed chair of RDA Hume in 2022 and is passionate about meeting the needs of Hume’s communities and leading the work of the dedicated RDA Hume committee.
The committee puts the region’s people at the heart of all decisions and acts as the link between them and governments while promoting regional priorities. Eliza says for a region to flourish, it’s important to hear from communities, understand their challenges and encourage the opportunities they see for Hume in 2023 and beyond.
“We’re a voice on behalf of our region to raise the needs of our communities with all three levels of government — local, state and federal — and ensuring those needs are heard and acted upon,” Eliza said.
“We are here to help achieve great outcomes for Hume and help guide our social and economic future. We want to help attract investment and innovations to our region that will make Hume an even better place to live.”
